School Supplies
Here you will find a list of school supplies for each grade level. I hope everyone is getting ready for the first day of school on Sept. 2.
School's Out: Summer School Info
Congratulations to all Darwin graduates. Also a reminder that summer school will be at Chase Elementary, 2021 N Point St, (773) 534-4185. Summer School begins Monday and ends the 24th of July. Bus leaves Darwin at 8:19 Monday through Thursday. There is no summer school on Fridays.
Pinning Tradition
Darwin School opened its doors over 100 years ago and the Ribbon Pinning tradition began soon afterwards. The Class of 2008 salute the important people in their lives. See some pictures here...
Greek Mythology Comes to Life
6th Grade students create their own board games as a culminating project to their Greek Mythology Unit. Students designed and played each other's games as part of their activity. See the pictures here.
Scholastic Book Fair
For five days Darwin has hosted a Scholastic Book Fair. Many books are at discount rates and they range from pre-school through 8th grade levels. There are also books in Spanish.
Carnival 2008 & Fashion Show
Although held a little late this year, Carnival 2008 wasn't only a hit this year but maybe the best we've had yet. With the participation from almost the entire school, a great day of fun was had by all.
Basketball Incentive a Big Hit!
On Friday March 14, Darwin students enjoyed a discipline incentive which included hoops and the great Darwin Cheerleaders. Check out the photos here.
100th Day of School Celebration
The 100th Day of School was on Friday, February 22. All the first grades, Room 505, 506 and 504, participated.
Super-Tuesday Darwin Primary
The Darwin Primary was held today along with 24 states around the country. Super-Tuesday is when more than 24 states hold primaries and caucuses in order for the parties to choose their candidates for president.
Chess Team 2008
The team participated in it's first chess tournament of the school year. The tournament was held at Gill Park in Chicago on the 15th of December. The Darwin Chess Team enjoyed the challenge of competing against players from among 14 different elementary schools.
